Summary

Twenty years at MAN Truck & Bus, the commercial vehicle manufacturer in the TRATON and Volkswagen group. I worked from the production floor to the CIO head office, which owns strategy, governance and portfolio management at group level, and ran the IT portfolio there for the last three years. The portfolio covered all eight Munich divisions, around 90 projects at any given point. Budget variance came down from 13 percent to 5 percent over two cycles. Decision time shortened by around 40 percent after reshaping the steering setup. Most of the governance work runs across directors and CIOs who don't report to me.
